The IMDb brand is very important to us and to our community of customers who trust IMDb as the authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content. IMDb permits its customers, partners and the media ("you") to use our name, trademarks and logos (the IMDb "Marks" or "logos") in limited circumstances and as specified in these Brand Guidelines. Your use of the IMDb Marks must abide by these Brand Guidelines. If you have a separate agreement with IMDb that addresses your use of our brand, that agreement will govern.

Our design system was crafted to define the IMDb unified brand and voice. These guidelines and the accompanying design toolkit serve as aids for IMDb and our partners in achieving global consistency across all of our digital and print communications. The following sections outline how to use our brand logos, colors, typefaces and star ratings. Consistent use of assets according to the following guidelines will help reinforce the IMDb image and strengthen brand recognition. Brand guidelines are updated periodically. Ensure you are referencing the most updated toolkit.

Use of the Thin, Heavy and Condensed weights are also acceptable and appropriate when trying to create extra emphasis. Logo vector files are provided in the Design Toolkit. 3.1 STAR RATINGS
IMDb Rating
The IMDb rating is a reflection of the IMDb community's opinion of TV shows, TV episodes, movies, and video games. Within the IMDb experience (the website and the mobile apps), the IMDb Rating is composed of a star icon and a numerical rating, out of 10. Outside of the IMDb experience, the IMDb rating is composed of two elements: the IMDb logo and a numerical rating. Display of our ratings data is limited to those entities that have entered into an agreement with IMDb to display that data. If you have an agreement in place with IMDb that authorizes your display of our ratings, please ensure your use conforms with the examples below. For more information on obtaining a license to IMDb data, please contact licensing@imdb.com.
Composition
IMDb Logo
The IMDb logo should appear before the
numerical rating. Either the full-color or
one-color version of the logo may be
used. For Standard compositions, "IMDb"
may alternatively be displayed in the
destination's default font and weight.
Large compositions may alternatively
use the square format of the logo.
Numerical rating
The numerical rating should appear in
the destination's default font and weight.
When space is available, the scale (/10)
should be included with the numerical
rating. Standard sizes (approximately
16pt font and below) should display the
numerical rating and scale at the same
point size. Large sizes (approximately
24pt font and above) should display the
scale at a smaller size than the rating.
